Personality: Ambitious, assertive, may come off as "fierce", which is a delicate way of saying "aggressive". He's often described by other traditionally herbivorous people as hostile or, so to quote, "raised by wolves". He may appear friendly, if overly bold, at one moment, only to become threatening the next. He has a natural impulse to be social, but because of his life circumstances he is heavily and readily defensive. He does tend to scare people off this way, well, more like they tend to run him off, and so he's condemned to live in solitude. That aside, he tries his best to be friendly and polite, although the excess of enthusiasm itself is usually off-putting, he may be described as somewhat charming.
History: Ridire's ancestors were once free fawnlings, until the fire nation attacked their home was raided by elves. The entire herd was slain or enslaved. Many were sold off to the hands of other faefolk, becoming little more than livestock. Those of Ridire's blood were given to the queen, both for their beauty and their history; these were the royal line of the fallen herd. Generations passed and many captive fawnlings had lost hope, taken away from their freedom and their people, many became beasts. Those of the old kings and queens did not want this to be the end of their people, however. They waited and plotted, when the elven magic waned and these had forgotten the power fawnlings once held, they revolted. Again, most were slain, but they had prepared their fawns, to run.
Ridire doesn't know what became of the others. He'd ran as he was told, taught not to stop, not to fear the cries and the roars of the magic. He escaped the stables. He ran until he escaped the kingdom. He ran until he had lost all sense of direction, but it was only then that he finally found his first taste of freedom.
